Seriously i can understand why singapore is setting up these rules/laws/acts. I had several
times emailed and ask other sellers for other brands supplies, such as hyper lens, gng, dueba...etc. But when i take in stocks, im very careful, cos i will ask for ems either from japan or from korea, and certs. ems is very important, ems shows where the lens came from, seller address, and the stocks are lenses. there r sellers who promise to show me e japan/korea ems, but after preordering 1pair for myself they say they dun have it. i know some of them took stocks from another seller...meaning there are middleman in between, but no matter what the stocks comes from korea/japan, will have a ems proof. for me, i will not sell lens which i didnt get to see proof. but it doesnt means every seller will do the same. Meaning selling lens without knowing where the lens come from, the authenticity. So if u r buying lens from overseas now, cos u cant find it in sg, then ask for the ems, especially hyperlens, gng, dueba. From november, i've ask several sellers, about 8-9 sellers, and sadly to say, none can show me ems proof, or avoid my qns/email when i ask abt ems proof. thats y i only selling geo n seashell cos both r from korea manufacturer. (in e past sell gng/dueba took from a trustable seller, but she stopped selling).
And there are alot young ladies...1st timer in wearing lens. duno the methods or how to take care of lens. Duno how bad it can be if the maintenance are wrong. for eg, sleeping with lens on,will cause corneal ulcers. Seriously i duno alot of things 2 years back. (although i wear color lens for 7-8yrs.) 2 yrs ago, i got eye infection when i wear durasoft (a yearly lens under freshlook brand)...the optical shops that i used to go to didnt really tell me the proper steps of maintenance, i only know alot of things when i google alot before selling lens.
so if brought lens online, customers will be even more ignorance of caring methods for lens.
and 1 impt thing, optical shop markets in SG.. 100% sales dropped for these few years due to
online lens selling. who wants to buy a monthly freshlook lens at S$30-45 when there is korea yearly lens with more variety of designs/colors selling even cheaper. The best solution to maintain the market in SG is to stop all these sellers.
stupid.
few years later, when i run out of lens, i will buy from overseas online, US HK AUS CAN alot of places are selling online too. since i have no problem wearing these lens, i will still wear them.there r no scientific proof that korea lens r not good
im sure alot people will be buying too.

I can't agree with you more. So many people have had problems wearing prescribed lenses but it is hardly reported. And a few cases of eye infections caused by lenses sold online and they have to ban them. I turned to online lenses because my degree went up from 175 to 225 in just 2 months of wearing those rubbish prescribed lenses by those unethical opticians. Hmph.
